Be courteous!

If you bring your cell phone to work so that family members and whatnot can reach you during the day with all their crises, please do not leave it on your desk while you go elsewhere in the building. Your creative ring tones may be charming the first or second time around, but your co-workers will soon grow weary of hearing them over and over and over ...

Perhaps, if there are no cameras, you could just smash it with a hammer.

Well, maybe you shouldn't, being that your blogged the fact that it annoyed you. :)

I'm sure everyone would automatically suspect me anyway.

The really pathetic thing is that I know who is calling this particular co-worker by how the phone rings. So when she comes back in I can say "Steve called" or "one of your kids called."

or you could turn the phone off and the next time she comes back say, i turned your phone off because i was having trouble concentrating with it ringing, and i really need to get this done.

if your co-worker is capable of guilt (and i realize that many are not), this will be highly effective.

Well, I did try the direct approach the other day. I said "Carry your phone with you when you leave the room. The ringing is driving me nuts." Didn't work. maybe passive-aggressive is the way to go ....

When she/he gets back to their desk, just lodge the phone in one of their eye sockets. Now while they're struggling to dislodge the phone, call them. They'll get the message.

Why do I suspect that last comment came from my lovely husband?
