I'm just saying...

In the couple of days after tv news realising that, hey, shit, the president really is an asshole, it seemed like there was a glimmer of life left in the American media. The BBC - which itself is hopelessly foxified in many ways - even went as far as to examine whether Katrina was the savior of the US media (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4214516.stm).

And yet, a week later, the news is back to rescued puppies and nuns and even a story about how great a texan oil tycoon is for paying for an airlift of dogs. That was second story down on CNN's website today.

Because texan oil tycoons are the cure-all for everything and never create any of the problems? Rescued pets are the limbless Iraqi children of this particular story. The very people who have nearly killed them, rescue them and then act the heroes. And the media sucks it up.
