Keep or give away?

One box full of House Beautiful magazines from the '60s. No one needs a box full of old magazines, but they're just so dang cool to look at. I feel guilty if I keep them and move them because I'm supposed to be taking advantage of this opportunity to de-clutter my life. But I don't want to get rid of them. The serve no useful purpose other than I like them. What to do?

if you have time and don't mind defacing them, i'd suggest going through the magazines and cutting out the stuff that you find interesting.

it cuts down on the bulk but you still get to keep the cool stuff that you like looking at.

You said it - no one needs a box full of old magazines. I doubt you'd miss them after they're gone. My advice: pitch 'em and feel smug.

How about donating them to a library?

At the risk of sounding mercenary (while sounding totally mercenary) you could eBay them. Moving house, you always need more cash for something. When we moved into our place in Bear River the attic was full of junk. We found a pile of old Seventeen magazines. We gave them to a friend who was a professional eBayer and told him he could have half of the proceeds. We made $750 each.
